Hail, Tiny Overlord!

(Image via Subversive Crosstitch.)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm happy to announce that Baby G joined us on Friday the 27th, a little ahead of schedule but perfectly healthy (once we unstrangled him from his umbilical cord. Bad, bad cord, you gave us QUITE the scare!). He's got giant feet, my nose, my husband's chin and charm to spare. This cuddle monster, a 7.5 pound preemie, is a full 20 inches stretched head to toe. I shudder to think what he'd have weighed three weeks from now if he'd decided to keep to the doctor's timetable!

I'm pleased to report that he is a very gentle overlord, whose long naps and only occasional cries are keeping us busy but happy beyond belief. In another stroke of lovingkindness, my pregnancy-induced writer's block went away as soon as the baby was in my arms, so I will be attempting to resume a regular blogging schedule in between breastfeeding sessions, naps, cuddle time and all those other things that I did before the baby. (I'm an expat spouse, and we all know that involves basically spending my days eating bonbons and being coddled, right? Riiiiiiight.)

We're giddy. We're a little sleep-deprived. We're PARENTS. Oh, wow.
