Mission: Accomplished

Now, technically, I didn't write 50,000 words in one novel alone. The official total was, 3,863 in a novel I started half-way through because I was sure that my original was terrible, and 46,367 in the original. Which I decided to go forward with after all, and am really glad I did. The shorter one has been stuck in my head for a while and is slowly forming in my mind. I can't tell you much about it, other than it's a story of a small town. And has some seriously quirky people in it.

The original one is about a young girl from the favelas and her experiences bridging two radically different subcultures within Brazilian culture, avoiding getting killed, pregnant or kicked out of school...as it gets edited, maybe I'll post some snippets...

Wait, so did you win something?

well, i won a lot of bragging rights. :) and also a promotional code for a free proof copy of my novel. but thankfully, it expires six months from now, so there's plenty of time for editing...

The hardest part is getting the story down in the first place. Now you have the fun of revising and seeing it get better and better. Good luck.
