Blogging with Child

Babies aren't good taxi riders when overtired. Ooh. How he screamed! Once my wailing child was reasonably calmed down, I think you'll agree that I was fully entitled to dig into the bag of mimi Reeses generously brought to Brazil by blogger friend Rachel.

We had a nice lunch at Deli Bizarra in Leblon. I brought homemade bagels to trade, but I'm pretty sure I got the better end of that deal! I only didn't kiss her feet because I was carrying a baby...but those little nuggets of peanut butter wonderfulness are one of my all-time favorite candies. I used to stash pounds of them in my suitcases, then throw handfuls of individually wrapped minis into the back of the freezer, where the frost would envelop them. It made for a sweet treat when I finally got around to defrosting, making the excavation amd cleanup tolerable. But I digress.

Deli Bizarra has excellent pizza, great crusts and offers Hawaiian, which is a regular request in our home. I can't wait to try it for our next pizza and movie night! It's just a hole-in-the-wall at the moment, and if you blink you'll miss it. But sooooo worth it.

Our weekend was lovely, being extra-long on account of Oilfield Workers Day or something like that. Yay for Fridays off! On Saturday, we went to the hardware store for some materials for new projects.

Having a baby has really fried my brain and altered my personality. I used to be proper, caring about social norms and so forth. Not anymore! Photographic proof below:

That's my stroller. With a load of lumber hanging out of the basket. V- cut it with a hand saw in the parking lot, balanced between some planters like a makeshift saw horse. Why? Because we don't have a car and needed to lug it home in a taxi.. Is that classy or what???? Of course, V- had to hide behind some bushes so I could flag down a taxi driver. They tend to avoid people with strollers and babies and large bundles of it takes some trickery to get one to stop!
