Gotta watch those dadgum eyes :) This was a fun romp through the waves, smelling the sea and hearing the gulls and watching old Bartolo work his sunburnt muscles knotting up as he throws the nets. Loved this.
This sings with wonderful weirdness and yet it tells the truth. I love the way it pulls me in deep, deeper and more deeply yet. I know Bartolo and yet he's a stranger. Wonderful!

That is really tremendous! I don't understand it and yet I do! That's the mark of good writing. Lovely word pictures.

that was a really fun to read, you hooked me in at the first line.
Bartolo is a real hero that most of us surely can relate to. Weird, yes, but I love his weirdness.
I loved this, beautifully written and intriguing
Such a great poem, it had me laughing. I especially loved where he talked about potatoes and how he'd "prefer to keep them above ground".
Great stuff - incredibly entertaining!

Weird and wonderful! Like a Homerian tale full of Siren's and mermaids. Spouse-like fish faces mocking hunger. Loved this.
Wow, everyone! I wasn't sure that Bartolo would be so well received...thanks!
